Oscars

So for me the sartorial choices of two stood out at the 83rd annual Academy Awards.
Cate Blanchett's poise and elegance was the perfect match for this Givenchy gown and Van Cleef & Arpels jewels, while Black Swan's Mila Kunis looked pretty in this lavender creation by Elie Saab.

LFW: House of Holland

Best friend of the Fashion Daily, Henry Holland made the funniest video Ever to celebrate his autumn 11 collection - QVC style. It had us in stitches (crochet...ahem) at the after show party and I'm sure it will make you smile too....

LFW: House of Holland

Harris Tweed tailoring was given a sexed-up edge with wipe-clean, patent collars at House of Holland as the designer and his team paid their respects to old ladies everywhere.
Lady of the manor knits encrusted with oversized pearls drummed up the perfect ideal of country living, while high-waist, tweed trousers were beautifully cut and conjured up nostalgic memories of the 1970s -
(for those who could remember).
A budgerigar print, and a crochet quilt print -in high sparkle glitter - both depicted favourite old lady past-times, while gorgeous bags by Katie Hillier were roomy enough for the more mature lady to fit her knitting needles in.
Bingo!

LFW: Irwin & Jordan

I met the lovely Irwin & Jordan team in Copenhagen and the label got a great reception at London Fashion Week. Irwin & Jordan is a label to watch for the future and Sir Stuart Rose - who sat front row - seems to agree! The autumn 11 collection is super wearable and features sophisticated metallics and tweeds.

Weird Dogs

I'm trying to think of some sweet synchronicity between canines and clothing which justifies putting these pictures on my fashion blog.
But I can't.

Shoot Gallery

From a damp woodland in South London to the most amazingly decrepid house in the East End - here is a selection of my recent shoots for Drapers

Norwegian Rain

Norwegian Rain is an outwear label founded in the rainiest city in Europe - Bergen, Norway.
These high-quality rain macs combine bespoke tailoring and intelligent pattern cutting with high tech-seam sealing techiniques - injecting a bit of elegance into keeping warm and dry.
Autumn 11 is set to be a huge season for outwear and Norwegian Rain will step up to the plate with its functional yet sartorial collection.

Prada's wonderful wovens

Trundling through Heathrow's uber glam Terminal 5, on the way to Copenhagen Fashion Week I popped into Prada, where I stumbled upon these things of sheer beauty.

I was so distracted by the surgeons’ scrub-like boxy shirts and bumble bee-striped dresses on the SS11 catwalk I must have missed them at the time, so it was a lovely little surprise.

With Love

There's a shed load of Valentine's Day appropriate product out there,
(I'd send a Valentine's day card to Equipment for their heart print blouse and to Moschino for their Lolita style shades)
But by far the best Valentine's Day gimick goes to...Sainsbury's for it's 'love cucumber'.
Sounds so wrong but by god, it's true.
Happy V Day my luvs
♥♥

Jil Sander SS11 Swoon

My love for Tilda Swinton has been burning bright for a long time. It began when I first saw her in the film The Beach. It was cemented when she modelled menswear in the  Pringle SS10 campaign, and I realised it would never end when I saw her on the red carpet at The Golden Globes recently.

Tilda was wearing proportion-playing pieces from the Jil Sander SS11 collection (my favourite Milan catwalk collection this season). The collection's huge, billowing harem trousers and floor length, column like peplum skirts were pleasing in their extremity, and it's London's Browns boutique which is first to store with the key items, including this positively sunshine inducing bloom print tee.

A. Sauvage

Here is a glorious shot by menswear designer and photographer Adrien Sauvage featuring a jacket from his latest collection. This 27 year-old sartorial creative is making waves in the menswear scene, and this digital dog-tooth print is set to do the same this season.
