Set in the Rochelle school in East London, a new trade show was born last weekend. Jacket Required; all menswear, all cool, with great brand adjacencies.
Carhartt -Work in Progress look strong for ss12, the brand is playing the heritage card well with archive prints decorating their stand at the show and slubby tees and vintages sweats. Velour continue to serve the best chinos in town, while footwear brands Gram and Maians stepped up. Vanishing Elephant and a few other brands at Jacket Required truly delivered something fresh in a market that is being dominated by heritage re-hashes.
Painterly, Pollocky silky splattered shirt by Vanishing Elephant.
Batik shorts, again on what handled like a silk mix, by Vanishing Elephant.
La Panoplie hit the ss12 sweet spot with brilliantly bright outerwear.
Duck vest by Human Made. Into it.
Maians loafers..from penny to tasseled, from £19 to £34 wholesale.
Big shout out goes to Mickey Singh who went to Spain, saw the shoes that the old folk were buying from the orthopedic footwear stores, brought them back to the UK and made them cool. Well done. Maians can be found in Coggles and Sakis
