Dominique Lucas

Inspired by the myth and legends of native African tribes this is the first jewellery collection created by talented designer Dominique Lucas. The eponymous label has launched for spring 11 and Lucas has collaborated with ADD, a charity which supports Aids prevention.

These pieces will make the perfect accessory to white or nude light-weight knits this spring. Every piece is silver, and then oxidised or plated in black rhodium, or finished in 24 carat rose or yellow gold.

The label currently lists Florence-based boutique and art gallery La Galleria 13  as its only stockist, so it would make a great UK exclusive for any premium boutique out there.

Nike Air Royal Mid + Harris Tweed

I don't profess to be a sneaker freak but when I saw this genius collab in the window of Offspring I couldn't resist. This partnership puts Scottish heritage (Weir...ahem) in the limelight by using hand woven Harris Tweed on a Nike Royal Mid. The result is a sleek sneaker with a formal twist and tons of fabric interest. The style comes in men's and women's versions in a purple and a green, and both have a brown leather upper. ♥♥

P.s this isn't the first time Nike has teamed up with Harris Tweed

Leon Talley's protege

Emerging designer LaQuan Smith has two fierce mentors by his side - Tyra 'smiizzze' Banks and Andre Leon Talley of Vogue. The designer made his New York Fashion Week debut last spring and has designed for Lady Gaga, Rhi Rhi and the like. While his design aesthetic is quite American - with it's clean, sleek finish and taupe palette - and his name makes it difficult to take him seriously, his pattern cutting and accomplished voluminous silhouettes are interesting and with those two on board, few are going to cross him. ♥♥

Endovanera

This Californian label hasn't hit the UK market yet - but it's one to watch out for. Autumn 10 sees the first full women's collection by designer David Michael Hershberger touch down in only the coolest indies including New York's Oak and Isetan in Tokyo. Androgynous and precise pattern cutting underpins this collection which uses easy-going jersey and cottons to conjur up a perfectly ethereal, wearable and fresh collection.

Wolf & Badger

When I heard that  Wolf & Badger had opened earlier this year - with the intention of leasing space to up-and-coming designers - I had visions of a student style trunk sale.

Oh how wrong was I. This chic retail space in the heart of London's Notting Hill is more urbane art gallery than degree show.

The store showcases the coolest in emerging fashion, accessories and jewellery labels. Giselle Ganne's bird skull knuckle duster is just brilliant. ♥♥

Denham the Jeanmaker

Cohesive branding? Check. Beautiful product? Check. Awesome store? Check.

Dutch denim brand Denham opened it's first London store and showroom last week on Shoreditch's Charlotte Road and I interviewed founder Jason Denham for Drapers [which is out on November 5].

Denham is one of the most exciting new entries to the denim market. It's design ethos is: 'worship tradition, destroy convention'. Rather than being marketing spiel, the ethos is visible in the brand's production of denims - which is rooted in traditonal jeanswear culture - and the brand's use of technical cutting and innovative laundering.

Roxy x Henry Holland

Injecting chic into snow wear is a challenge, but Henry Holland has delivered on a cool, cosy collection of post-piste skiwear for Roxy Heart.

The celeb studded launch was held at cool Carnaby Street indie Beyond the Valley this week, and with a mounted stag head on the wall and mulled wine by the gallon  glass it felt just like Whistler....sort of.

The Fashion Desk Daily loves the silk studded tops, cosy heart print chunky knit, quilted leather skirt and the printed column dress.

Future Beauty

To tie-in with an exhibition running at London's Barbican a sensational book charting the past thirty years of Japanese fashion has launched.

It champions the mind bending genius of Comme de Garcons founder Rei Kawakubo, and designer Junya Watanabe. Kosuke Tsumura's work with Final Home in the mid '90s is celebrated, as is the career of Hiroshima born Issey Miyake.

The book also highlights Japan's future fashion stars and explores the Japanese design aesthetic and the nation's unique street style.
