Prada backed high shine leathers for AW10 using them on double breasted trench coats, while wet look fabrics have been used in a more teccy way by the likes of Wood Wood for the SS11 season.
Even up-and-coming graduates from The Danish Design School used it on SS 11 collections.
Wallpaper magazine comissioned designers Kostas Murkudis and Carsten Nicolai to designing something for their outrageously cool 'Handmade' issue, they chose to make a dress out of nylon and high shine Polyurethane to give it a glossy finish.
So, if it's got a patina, shine on.
