Nirrimi

In LOVE with Nirrimi, a photographer aged just 18 who was born to bohemian parents who nurtured her profound talent. Have a look at her website and some of the pictures she has taken below.

Forever 21

Poor, poor Desigual and H&M sat slap-bang next door to this young fashion behemoth which opened on Oxford St this week. Topshop design at H&M prices is the strategy so I've been told. So we've seen it all before then?

FACTS:
- From the number of people with the surname Chang in the management team, it would seem Forever 21 is a family business
- They can design and dispatch new product to shop floor in one week
- Diane Von Furstenburg and Gwen Stefani have both made claims that Forever 21 has ripped off their designs, according to reports
-Forever 21 has been known to print John 3:16 on the base of their bags, tipping a little nod to the faith of the founders
- John 3:16 is one of the most quoted verses from the Bible "For God so loved the world he gave..."

The creator aside, what do you think of the product they're pushing in the windows?

Scarie

First in the "you're not supposed to wear it there" series was the Bandankle- the bandana tied around the ankle. Now making it's bid for popularity is the Scarie as sported here by Sane pr's Rachel. A delicate, vintage scarf tied as a neck tie. This works particularly well if there is a button down collar to feed it through.

Chanel

We all have one of those friends, you know the type; kind, loyal, beautiful with impeccable taste? This is my one of those - Sam Jones. Fashion director of Style Passport, all round hot mum and magnificant shopper. This is her latest purchase (well her hubby Gary bought it for her) the Chanel shopping bag tote. She can't put it down anywhere, as a) it will most certainly get nicked, and b) it's bright white, but it's the most beautiful bag i've seen in some time.
In a pub in Kensal Rise this week, I met Sam, the owner of Marc B bags. They sell phenomenal numbers of bags through their Oxford Circus Topshop concession, mainly to school girls after an affordable version of the Chanel 2.5.

I was admiring Sam's bag, more vintage in style than their volume pieces. She gave it to me and called it the Laura. My evolution into Alexa Chung is to be frank, going to quickly for my liking.

Here is a picture of me, wearing said bag, with Solange Knowles, (sister of the super attractive and successful Beyonce) at a launch party to celebrate Dolce & Gabbana selling to Mr Porter at the Net-A-Porter HQ in London's Westfield. It was a fabulous party, and far to hot inside to be wearing a tight, wool trouser.

Just fucking give it to me....

This is the first in the 'Just Fucking Give It To Me' series. It's too hawt not to have.

Lily Donaldson in shark suit

In the spring 11 Aldo campaign, shot by Terry Richardson, Lily Donaldson dons a shark's head to convey the Life's a Beach concept. I hear she is quite particular about who she shares the frame with, but the chemistry seems to be working here.

River Island Christmas Collection

It makes me as unhappy as a kid with no presents that we're already thinking about Christmas. Summer hasn't finished and the Sales are still on, but ho ho ho, here we go. River Island put a scattering of snow on the proceedings yesterday and got press in the festive mood, by moulding glitz-glam platforms into an ice carving and unwrapping a selection of cocktail dresses. Lace, luxe fabrics and referencing the 1970s continues to be important.

Tom Ford campaign

The high octane spring 11 campaign shot by Mert & Marcus features the glorious, wasp waisted Candice Swanepoel

Bread & Butter Highlights: People

Bread & Butter Highlights: Product

A few product highlights from the tenth anniversary Bread & Butter show in Berlin. Big spring 12 trends include bright bold colours, particularly on outerwear and chinos, distorted, hombre and vintaged washes on jersey and tees, functional design details such as rope trims and ties and an update on nautical dressing for the more sophisticated man. Denims take a back seat for spring 12 as chinos (and tailored shorts) come to the fore, but when jeans were seen at the show, washes were light blue, in soft and chirpy cottons.

The hardwalking feet of Diffusion's Carl Peddie. Love these two-tone canvus penny loafers

Farah Vintage actually had one of the nicer stands at the show the brick effect was cool and accessories looked strong
Jolly old Trickers and a sunny sunflower

Nice scatering of trendy bits on the Lee stand

And some Lee product too

Fisherman smocks by Armour Lux, hope these catch on

Lavenham has utilised its quilting techniques on ties, shoes and hats this season to a mixed reaction. I love these ties, would you wear them?

Lavenham has also extended into windsheeters in jaunty colourways

Lavenham quilted flat caps and hybrids

Barbour had a lovely two tone jacket on it's stand but this duck emblazoned polo shirt is a winner

Not sure what this gangland Crip warrior was doing wandering around Berlin but I style papped him anyway.

Check out pap pics of the beautiful people at Bread and Butter here.

Armor Lux

Nautical gets an update this spring 12 and the pioneer of the Breton striped top - Armor Lux - rigged up some sailor smocks on it's Bread and Butter stand in Berlin last week. The smocks traditionally are sewn by fisherman using worn out sails and are damn cool and casual. This silhouette can shorten the torso and widen the upper body so don't wear with skinny jeans and instead wear with a loose fit trouser.

Pointer Store: Berlin

Pointer launched a store in Berlin today, on day one of the German trade show Bread & Butter. The store is beautiful- a simple, light and airy space with delicate wood features, it was designed by Alice, the good lady wife of Pointer founder Gareth Skewis. Of course there's shoes, but there's also an expertly edited line-up of product and collabs from Pointer and bag label Porter, and menswear brands Baracuta and Heritage Research. The first London Pointer store will follow soon once the guys find the right location.
